R. Sam Shepard, Jr.
Mr. Shepard is a registered
professional Engineer and Managing Partner of EASE LLC.
Prior to joining EASE he was Chief Operating Officer of CAES Development
Co.responsible for managing the development of Norton Energy Storage,
a 2700 MW CAES facility in Ohio. He previously spent 4 years as Senior
Vice President, Engineering and Construction at Amoco Power Resources
developing and building gas-fired power plants in Argentina, Colombia,
the UK and Alberta, Canada.
Mr. Shepard has worked in the power industry for 28 years in many sectors
including planning, finance, distribution and business development with
various subsidiaries of The Southern Company both domestically and internationally.
Mr. Shepard holds a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialty
in Power Systems, from Mississippi State University and holds an M.B.A.
from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Michael J. McGill is a mechanical engineer,
a licensed professional engineer, and the Partner in charge of Business
Development of EASE LLC.
Before joining EASE he was Vice President of Business Development for
CAES Development Co. Prior to that worked for five years at TPC Corporation
(and Tejas Power Corporation) developing commercial concepts to capture
the value of the compressed air energy storage technology. In addition,
he has worked in fuel supply and asset management for Edison Mission
Energy, and in gas marketing, electric sales, and engineering for other
utility companies and major producers of oil and gas.
Jack has over 30 years experience in the power industry including project
management, development engineering, and management of the engineering
and construction departments of major corporations. He is Partner in
charge of Projects for EASE LLC
Most recently he was Vice President of Projects for CAES Development
Co. Previously he was Director of International Project Engineering
at Enron Engineering and Construction company, and prior to that he
served as Vice President of Engineering for Amoco Power, responsible
for the activities of technical directors located in London, Hong Kong,
Rio do Janiero, and Houston.
Jack is also director of NTFW Ltd , a UK company dedicated to exploring
new technologies for handling waste and generating renewable power
He is a Senior Member of the Association of Energy Engineers, Member
of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and a Member
of the Institute of Diesel and Gas Turbine Engineers. He has a B.Sc.
in Electrical Engineering, an M.Sc. in Engineering and is a Life Member
of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.
